Zuki was scared out of her mind. She saw the thing chasing us and knew we were not alone. I had enough, I was leaving. I was not gonna deal with this. Everyone followed me to the door that lead into the town. Now of course I had a feeling that the door would not open. Just from what the stranger said and what just happened. I tried to push the door open and what happens, nothing. I then asked Hoen, john and Aulon to help me break of one of the benches. After some yanking we got a crappy battering ram.
"1,2,3!!!" John shouted and we all ran towards the door. Before we made impact I saw something outside I yelled
"STOP!!!"I dropped the bench and ran to the window. The fog was so thick I could only see a few feet away then I saw it. Someone was walking outside. I kept watch as the figure got closer. It was naked with chains all over its body but the thing that really made me flinch was-the thing had-no mouth and its eyes were closed. It came up to the window and lifted its eyelids. I fell back from the window foe the image I just saw made me crap my pants. No EYES??? HOW THE HELL??WHAT IS THIS??? The others looked out the window and looked at me like I was crazy. "IT HAD NO MOUTH AND I-ITS EYES WERE OUT OF ITS HEAD!!!" Hoen laughed at me but gave me a look of understanding. Mary sat down next to me to calm me down. Did they see it at some point? No, they would have said something. They all think im crazy. Maybe I am but I know what I saw. Everyone else went back into the cathedral and sat in a broken circle.
"You know Scave, maybe this trip is going to far." Ele was one of john's friends. She had her own voice that always had a special ring to it. No matter what she said it made you happy. No wander John likes her so much. "From the things I'm seeing we are stuck in a situation that may not end well." I was going to reply but I did not feel like it. The happiness her voice had was gone. This is serious. Zuki and I are the first to encounter one of these monsters. Who's to know that there are more of them in here?
Ten minutes later, I was calm enough to grasp the matter at hand. I forgot who I was for a second. We need answers and the only way to find them is in the dark. "Lets go upstairs Scave, we could find something we can use." John had a good point. I opened the door and began to walk up the spiral staircase. I figured this would lead up the bedrooms or priest office. We reached the top of the staircase and found a open door. "This must be the priest office. The room was small and had nothing but a desk in the middle of the room. On the desk was a few lanterns and a book. I expected it to be a bible but it was a journal. As I picked it up I felt a chill in the air. It was like a voice telling me to get out. In my brain I was thinking that it could be the priest who used to live here. Aside from my pondering John felt the same thing as well. With that we both ran down the spiral staircase and saw Ele waiting at the door.
"Did you find anything useful?" She did not have to sound so sniffy about it. I gave a lantern to Aulon and Mary. I kept one of them even though I doubt ill use it. Sadly, we were at a impass. We could not go outside because of the fog. Nothing was upstairs and the kitchen is a off limits area as well. "Scave, what's with that book?" Ele reminded me about the journal I found. I opened the front and the only page that had writing on it said:
For anyone who is reading this. You are doomed. This place holds the very gate to the void. Something has escaped and has devoured this town in a green fog. There is no way out unless you will pay the required toll to exit the gates. I don't have much time left. I am sorry for those who will die and join the others. Enjoy your last moments while you still can. I am inside the deep reaches of the Cathedral. I will remain there until some human comes to free me from this cursed place.

After I read this, everyone did not say a word. I mean what would you say if someone told you "Well you're gonna die, have fun" any thoughts? No? That's what I figured.
Stupid mistake number three: Stare at a thing with no eyes or mouth……it will be ok. While at the same time your brain starts to melt.
